Slot Jet Reattachment Nozzle Flow Characteristics

Slot Jet Reattachment Nozzle Flow Characteristics

We wanted to share that CARD researcher, Elif Asar, with contributions from Mengqiao Yang and Jamal Yagoobi recently published an article in Drying Technology called “Impact of Reattachment Surface Characteristics on the Flow Field Generated by Slot Jet Reattachment Nozzle – A Numerical Study.”

The research studies the slot jet reattachment (SJR) nozzle’s flow characteristics when used for industry applications to dry/bake finite-sized products moving on a mesh-type conveyor belt. The isothermal turbulent flow field of the SJR nozzle(s) is studied numerically, where the SJR nozzle(s) are targeted on a moving perforated surface with/without product from above (and below).

For the first time, a numerical study was performed to solve the turbulent flow field of the SJR nozzle on a moving perforated reattachment surface.
